Odd Motorcycle: CR&S DUU Concept

About the sole sensible issue that came out of the suck-fest that was Terminator Salvation were the awesome motorcycles. Not an equivalent bike from the film, however pretty shut, the CR&S DUU Concept motorbike features a similar intimidating stance and metallic ferocity. however it doesn’t simply speak a troublesome talk it’s got the muscle to back it up with a one.9-liter X-Wedge engine by S&S. every DUU are going to be created to order one at a time leaving lots of area for personalization.

Concept Motorcycle : Aprilia Mana X

Italian Aprilia presented official photos of the Mana X concept motorcycle, officially presented at the Motobike Show EICMA-2008 in Milan.
Concept is equipped with a 850-bottom V-shaped engine with the angle of the cylinders at 90 degrees, as usual Aprilia Mana 850, as well as the gearbox in the form of вариатора CVT.

The car with the chassis has a unique and very original design.

Rear suspension design distinguishes itself unprecedented suspension and shirochennaya tire.

It is an unusual look and the headlights.

Will the machine in the series so far unknown.

Concept motorcycle : Yamaha Gen-RYU hybrid

Yamaha is dropping no less than 9 world premiere models on the 39th Tokyo Motor Show coming up later this month. Of special note to us is the Gen-Ryu hybrid motorcycle prototype (damn!) which combines the YZF-R6 600cc engine with a high output, high efficiency electric motor. Combine that with some fat wheels and that long wheelbase and you've got a machine said to perform and handle like a "1,000cc class machine." Eco-power not workin' it for ya? Ok, well consider it has a vehicle-to-vehicle distance warning system, a "cornering light system" for a little night time knee-scraping action, and a noise cancelation system which is said to allow for an intercom, voice navigation, hands-free cellphone calls, and music player — damn impressive if it really works! And just for kicks, how about an LCD so you can watch those cagers mouth "what the…" as you roll on by.

Concept Motorcycle : The Mach Ness Monster

Arlen Ness has created a hunk of metal on wheels powered by a gas-turbine helicopter engine, the Mach Ness. The bodywork is made entirely out of aluminum that's been shaped by hand. But it's not for sale...it's just a concept motorcycle. The concept began when Arlen saw Jay Leno’s turbine motorcycle but didn’t like the $250,000 price tag, so he built his own. Renovatio concept motorcycle.

       The Renovatio (Latin for "Rebirth") concept motorbike from Confederate Motorcycles based in America is a radical concept bike designed by Confederate's lead designer Ed Jacobs.

       The Renovatio is extremely minimalistic with all the mechanical elements of the bike on show. With large attachment points easily accessible on the engine, upgrades and various configurations can easily be exchanged.

        The 135 horsepower, 125 ft/lbs of torque V-twin engine of the Confederate Renovatio concept was built by Katech Inc. of Detroit. Katech was hired to design five prototype engines, they chose to base the 1686 cc (103 cu in) V-twin on General Motors LS7 7.0 litre V8. Katech were also responsible for the 16 cylinder engine found in the Cadillac Sixteen concept car of 2003.

Confederate already manufacure two high-end and unique bikes, the Confederate Wraith and the Hellcat F131. The Confederate Renovatio is a concept created inline with Confederates current vision.

Concept Motorcycle : Honda EVO6

The EVO6 is a fusion of both sportsbike and cruiser in a dazzling concept machine. Powered by the large-displacement flat-six cylinder engine from the Gold Wing, the motor proudly sits on show in its minimalist chassis and bodywork. The aggressive design is completed by the slim fuel-tank and seat-unit and single-sided swingarm.

Ariel Leader 1959

        What appeared in July 1958 was a combination of several new technologies for Ariel, primarily the use of a 250-cc two-stroke engine, pressed-steel frame, and odd-looking trailing-link front forks. The enclosed styling allowed for a chassis structure that stored fuel beneath the seat, while the "tank" served as a convenient storage area.

        Another interesting aspect of the Leader was the long list of options available. As a result, few of the 22,000 produced were exactly the same. Color choices included Oriental Blue or Cherry Red with Admiral Gray accents; the model featured here sports the optional side bags and rear luggage rack.

      By 1959, Ariel had put all its cards into the Leader, having dropped the Square Four that year. A cheaper, stripped Arrow model followed, as did a Golden Arrow "sport" version. But the deck was stacked against it by this time as Japanese imports flooded the market, and Ariel folded its hand in 1965

concept motorcycle : Yamaha launch hybrid 2010

Back in 2005, Yamaha showed the wacky 2005 Gen-Ryu hybrid concept bike at the Tokyo Motor Show amidst a raft of other very non-conventional two wheelers such as the aptly named FC-Me fuel cell bike, the ingenious Deinonychus elec tric reconfigurable motorcycle, the Chivicker, Passol and the Maxam two-wheeled limousine. Now it appears certain the bike will become a showroom model in 2010. A series of patent applications detail the new motorcycle which uses the YZF-R6 600cc engine to turn a generator which in turn powers the rear wheel. History shows that every Yamaha styling patent published over the last 20 years has resulted in a full production machine, so there's little doubt this one is also heading for a showroom near you in the very near future. You can expect to see it in the flesh for the first time at the Tokyo Motor Show later this year.

Kuwaiti Night Riders

Every night, like clockwork, I hear the absurdly loud engines of the phantom (menace) motorbike riders who travel like packs of wolves up and down the Gulf Road. Well, nothing too odd about people ’night riding’ their bikes, so what’s the problem I hear you ask?

Well their choice of timing is very odd for a start. I usually head to sleep at about 1am, but I often hear these guys driving up and down the road well into the early morning. It’s not uncommon for me to wake up at 4 or 5am and still hear these ‘phantom menaces’ riding their bikes. I am a relatively light/medium sleeper and often get woken up by the sound of my glass shuddering like an earthquake has just hit.

WWII motorcycle tank hybrids. Very odd vehicles and I'm not really sure of the reasoning behind their construction, why the motorcycle front end was necessary isn't clear, the one site says it's for stability at high speeds and you actually could remove it in really rough terrain, but they do look interesting.

Specs say they could get up to 45-50mph with the 4 cylinder, 1478cc gasoline engine sourced from Opel, while the vehicle itself was made by NSU. It was designed to go into mountainous terrain and tow a trailer or small gun.

The web sites say there were about 8400 Kettenkrads produced during the war and over 500 afterwards. Some collectors keep them going and I think they look like a real hoot. I love stuff like this and if you dig around enough, you never know what you might find. Neat.

Fastest Extreme Motorcycles

The current record holding fastest motorcycle is the BUB 7 streamlined racer at 350.884 mph recorded at Bonneville Salt Flats. It did it with power from it’s purpose built 3 liter V-4 engine.

Smallest Extreme Motorcycles

Sweden’s Tom Wiberg built this 3.14 inch wheelbase smallest motorcycle. The tiny front wheel is just 0.62 inch diameter. The rear wheel is bigger at 0.86 inch. He went on a ride for about 33 feet powered by the 1/3 hp engine

Biggest Extreme Motorcycles

Gregory Dunham built this monster and it is considered to be the biggest motorcycle ever. 11′3″ inches to the top of the bars… talk about ape hanger handlebars! Actually, it has a steering wheel near the seat, just above the 502 cubic inch engine.
